In recent weeks, players have been giving Blizzard an earful concerning experience gains and leveling in World of Warcraft. It looks like a couple of issues are at the heart of these problems, including time to kill certain baddies and the time it takes to level up between levels 60 and 80. While Blizzard is still trying to figure out why some baddies are taking too long to kill, the hope is that a hotfix launched this week will address the problem of leveling.

Congratulations on reaching Level 120! There are a myriad of new things to do. The first thing you should do is head to your faction hub ship where you have been doing your mission table quests and footholds to pick up and complete the quests necessary to unlock World Quests. World Quests will provide you an opportunity to grind reputation levels, acquire gear, and gather Azerite. Once you have your potions, proceed to complete all the bonus objectives in your starting zone. This should easily level you to 92, where you can proceed to Gorgrond. Interesting enough, for some reason many Gorgrond quests are worth nearly double the experience of quests in other zones. Maybe this is a bug, maybe intended, I'm not sure. But I actually recommend you do all the quests and bonus objectives in Gorgrond. For your outpost choice, I recommend choosing the Gladiators, since they give access to more treasures than the shredder IMO.

The Escalation patch has introduced several new scenarios with respective heroic modes that provide shiny new loot. It is still too early to predict which of these will demand the highest prices at the auction house or AH, since it can take weeks for players to work through the content and determine the value of the new drops compared to the existing items. Many expect the rarest and most prized drops to start commanding handsome prices starting June, so just keep your eyes peeled for popular WTB requests in general chat and high-selling items at the AH.
Many people have asked whether we recommend leveling as Enhancement or Elemental. There’s no definitive answer here; it depends entirely on your comfort, your gear options, and if you’re in a group or solo. Enhancement benefits more from Honor Talents in open world leveling, and Elemental has stronger AOE damage for mass pulling. Feel free to experiment with both specs.

Stormheim is the zone you want to start it. For some reason Legion treasures are not worth any experience like they are in WoD...except in Stormheim. I haven't been able to find out any reason for this, and it's possible it may get fixed/nerfed at a later date. But for the time being you REALLY want to jump from treasure to treasure to augment your quest experience.

Full disclosure on my time with Battle for Azeroth thus far: I leveled a Horde character to 120 and completed all three Zandalar storylines plus put about 20 hours into end-game content. I have also leveled an Alliance character partway through Kul Tiras and completed portions of the Stormsong Valley and Tiragarde Sound storylines. My only experience in Drustavar has been through the eyes of the Horde thus far.

Gold-making blog Just My Two Copper suggests that enchanting will be quite the money making profession during the initial phase of Patch 5.3. This is because with players racking up new shield heirloom items and new PvP weapons and cloaks, and the tendency of PvP fans to max out every potential stat in their gear to win their matches, they will spend a pretty penny on Enchanting boosts. Just My Two Copper expects direct enchanting fees as well as the costs of Enchanting materials to rise during the start of the patch.
Take breaks. Unless you're straight up no-lifing it over a weekend or something, this leveling process is going to take ~40 hours. But any time you do need to step away, log out. That tiny little bit of rested exp is insignificant...but you never know when something might come up and you'll have to leave for a longer period of time than you expected. Better to be logged out and safe(especially with War Mode on) than AFK waiting for a d/c. Plus, you'll need to stretch, eat, shower, and maybe sleep. XD
With the excitement of becoming Level 120 comes a lot of new activities to do. However, it is particularly important to note that you should continue to complete the story mode quests. You will undoubtedly achieve Level 120 before completing your third zone, so be sure to head back and finish the story quests as they are important to unlocking game content as well as pushing your reputation levels even higher. Each zone comes with a lot of side quests that can be ignored at first as you push your item level up, complete emissaries, and do dungeons, but when you have some time, be sure to wrap up all of the quest lines in each zone to maximize your reputation potential. According to Game Director Ion Hazzikostas “We are seeing the same sort of discrepancies that folks in this thread and others have pointed out,” said Hazzikostas. “But we still have yet to pinpoint the exact aspect of scaling that we failed to account for. We want to understand why the numbers are off and fix the underlying cause: Were stats on gear reduced too much? Some aspect of creature armor or other combat calculations? Are our baseline values accurate, but the shape of the scaling curve wrong such that it’s particularly far off the mark in the 60-80 range?
If you are just coming out of Level 110, you will probably have a number of different Legendary items to choose from. Your Legendaries' special effects will stop working at Level 116, but until then they can be a very powerful addition to help you level quickly. That could be changing, however, and you might see some shocking prices in the auction house over the next several months if you’re playing Battle for Azeroth.
If the new Battle.net balance has given rich players a new incentive to liquidate, and the spiking prices are a result of them trying to sell all their gold at once? Prices for tokens could settle much lower once that stash of gold has been depleted. This seems likely, because there’s a compelling new reason to sell gold, but no new reason to buy it. Blizzard has a good way to drain those gold reserves from the market. 

If you want to spend as little time on your alt as possible - just do Legion Invasions. You can use sites like (https://wow.gameinfo.io/invasions) to track when the next invasion will be. Log in, fly to the closest world quest, and once there - right-click on the quest's name in your quest log and "Find Group". Sign up for some group, or if there's none - just start your own immediately, and people will come to you. It is 10 times faster to do invasion quests in a group. Once that particular quest is complete - leave the group, and fly to the next one, where you should find another group. Don't expect the group from one world quest to follow you to the next. Then you simply log out until next invasion. You can do 1-2 invasions a day, and each invasion will give you about a level or 1.5 of experience, if you have full heirloom gear. Each invasion will take about 20 minutes.
I've been having a lot of fun throughout World of Warcraft's Legion expansion, but I'm coming from the experience of having played it since the beginning with a heap of high-level characters to romp around with. For many Legion is their first crack at WoW (or their first MMO), and several changes to the leveling system have a lot of people up in arms.

With 8.0, Blizzard introduced World of Warcraft’s second ever stat squish — where all the numbers in the game are lowered across the board for clarity. While it may make the game easier to read, it has caused some serious in-game problems. Since the patch, Blizzard has been throwing out hotfixes each day, fixing things that the stat squish either forgot to alter or simply broke.
Adjacent to the necklace is the Azerite gear, which is received from quests and dungeons. They are pieces of gear for your head, chest, and shoulders slots with unlockable attributes that you gain as your Heart of Azeroth necklace gains levels, allowing you to customize the bonuses you get from the gear and even boost its item level at a certain point.
Again, I play on Hoard side. I had an issue with the War Campaign guide. The guide suggests I pick up the “Wanted” posts at each outpost. I was not able to pick up these until I had finished unlocking all three outposts and the World Quests. The problem currently is that a previous patch introduced a much smoother paced leveling system, though it was definitely slower. Many actually enjoyed the tweak to the overall progression system but ever since patch 8.0 went live, many MMORPG lovers are reported that is unnecessarily difficult to level through some of the older content drops, which was an unintended side affect according to Blizzard.
Third: Don’t skimp out on consumables. I recommend getting 20 flask, 20 Drums, 40 Runes/Food, and about 20 pots. If you are Horde I HIGHLY recommend about 40 Goblin Gliders, it will make your life so much easier. Consumables are pretty cheap right now (on my server at least) and I do recommend you stock up. Ask a friendly mage for some food before you start leveling so you don’t have to waste your buff food.

These quests for the amount of time to complete them are not worth a spot that a green quest and above takes up save for questing achievements - this can be finished up later at higher levels (such as for the Loremaster achievement) - or for later rep grinding. Do green quests as soon as possible to avoid the drop in experience when they turn gray.

The leveling guides on my site are essentially speed leveling guides.  My leveling guides are the same guides I use myself to speedrun to 60 on new servers to get 60 server first.  I list many occasions where I tell the player to "die on purpose" to go faster.  I tell the player to skip certain quests, because some quests are just not worth the time/XP.  I list tricks and shortcuts to go faster so you can reach level 60 much quicker.  I am still constantly going through them over and over again perfecting the guides to make them faster and easier to follow.  For the most part, the guide can be followed without the need from other player's help, as the whole guide was made from a solo run anyways.  Although I do list quests that can optionally be done if you have a group.
Gold in World of Warcraft is a currency that is awarded in small quantities for completing quests and missions, defeating enemies, and selling unwanted items to vendors. It is used in the game to purchase things like armor repairs, crafting reagents and the use of flight paths that ferry players to various locations. It is also the currency of exchange on WoW’s auction house.
Most classes in World of Warcraft start at first level, but Death Knights and Demon Hunters are exceptions. They start at level 55 and 98, respectively. Many people would think that a 10-minute cooldown like Bloodlust is useless in open world, but you can do a "kill-15-mobs" quest in like 30 seconds if you pull a lot and use it. A free quest every 10 minutes is not that bad.

In that expansion, NPC followers could get an ability called “treasure hunter” that doubled any gold rewards they earned from a quest. If you plan on pulling all-nighters, please don’t be reckless and over strain yourself. People have died from lack of sleep. If you want some tips on staying up I recommend taking a nap before launch time, eating a healthy meal full of protein before launch, snacking on fruit and nuts (my personal go to is clementine oranges and almonds) while leveling, if you do decide to drink energy drinks I do recommend not getting the ones packed with sugar (I prefer no sugar no carb Redbull and G-Fuel) and making sure you drink at least 2 bottles of water in between every energy drink so you stay hydrated and don’t crash. A good time to get some sleep is after you finish all the questing and you are 120 which again will take average played 10+ hours. Again, please don’t be stupid and end up hurting yourself over a video game; everyone must sleep at some point, so you won’t be too behind the curve.
In addition, you'll want to pick up leg and shoulder enchants and have them in your bags. These enchants have a level requirement of 80/85, but can't be placed on items above iLVL 136. You can get around this by having a level 85-100 character apply the enchant before mailing it to the character you're leveling, thus getting use of the enchants before level 85.
The zones in Battle for Azeroth are littered with treasures and rare spawns that give the same amount of XP as quests. With Zygor's Leveling guide these points of interest are displayed directly on your map and can be clicked at anytime to add them underneath your current guide step. The guide will then switch focus to the POI, direct you to its completion, and tell you how to complete it.
Auto looting a mob will increase leveling speed for the expansion. to enable it = Esc, Interface, Controls, Enable Auto Loot. I'm including this because sometimes the simple things are missed. I, sadly, went 3/4 of the way through WoD not knowing that hitting the space bar for my mission tables is much MUCH faster than waiting it out. (i never claimed to be smart OKAY) =P
You should equip new quest rewards when their item level starts beating out your previous set of gear. If you are currently wearing Tier 21 gear, it is best to let the quest rewards significantly beat your existing item level before using them. With that said, you will unlock Azerite pieces early on, which are worth using over Tier gear in most circumstances.

I used fully upgraded and enchanted heirlooms; missing only the fishing ring. Leveling from 1-20 took ~3 hours, at which point I immediately turned on War Mode for the duration. I rarely encountered enemy players, and when I did they almost always left me alone. But the few times I did get ganked, the total cost in time was insignificant. Maybe a total of 5 deaths from ganks in the entire 40 hours.

Professions have changed dramatically in Legion. While before you simply had to pay for recipes when you were in town, now the trainers as you to gather certain materials or defeat certain targets in order to unlock additional recipes. How can you profit from this new system? Well, to compensate players with the harder recipe unlocks, the developers have implemented a recipe rank system.
Finally: Gearing happens in a pretty linear way for BFA. Once you hit 120, normal dungeons drop 310 and you need 305 item level to start heroics. Heroics drop 325 and I recommend doing Mythic at around 320. Mythic drops 340 and I highly recommend clearing every single mythic dungeon to give you the highest item level going into week 2. On launch, you will have access to 9 Mythic dungeons and there will be 1 dungeon that is gated behind honor bound rep; Siege of Boralus is gated for the Horde and King’s Rest is gated for the Alliance. I am not 100% sure on this, but I do not believe you will be able to obtain enough Honorbound rep to unlock those dungeons with the first week. Either way, its important to get a clear of all 9 dungeons first week to give you the most chances at loot. If PvP is more your thing gear starts at 280 and I am not 100 percent sure how PvP gear works for BFA. I will do more research and fill this in the best I can.
Skinning is a good money maker as throughout your travels you will fight many beasts. It also won't take much time, only 1-5 seconds after every beast. Miners and herbalists have to travel all the way to the nodes. Skinning also provides the passive bonus Master of Anatomy, increasing critical strike (which is especially helpful for agility-based characters who take it with Leatherworking).
Incorporating an accelerated leveling pace is *definitely* something we want to incorporate in to the new addon My hope is to allow an option for you to set yourself to one or two higher speeds, where the guide will skip some steps along the way. The steps will have a special tag that lets the addon know to skip them if the person has that setting enabled.
As is true of most web sites, the Company gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet services provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. The Company uses this information to analyze trends, to screen for fraud, to administer the Company's sites, to track users' movements around the web sites and to gather demographic information about the Company's user base as a whole.
Any decently geared 90 can complete a Pit of Saron trash mob run in 3-5 minutes. Each mob in the heroic version has a chance of dropping a Battered Hilt, which sell on the auction house for around 10k. Video guides will show the best route to take to pull all the trash mobs at once if you're a class with good AOE; other classes can simply pull less mobs at a time and loot as they go. While this method is a little less reliable than farming Vale-- after all, you're left to the mercy of RNG gods-- it has a higher chance of huge windfall because you could get a multiple hilts every run. Pull the mobs, burn 'em down, and cross your fingers when you loot. On top of the hilts, there's plenty of vendor trash, BoP epics for enchanters, and even a trinket that turns you into a gorilla. You will have to have completed the Forge of Souls in Icecrown Citadel to access this particular dungeon, though.

Bags: This SHOULD be a no-brainer. The cheap-o version are Netherweave bags, but if you have the gold I recommend you get the largest bags you can afford, since it means you won't have to stop to clean them out as often. In fact, if you have an excess of gold, it's probably not even worth your time to stop and loot mobs that aren't quest objectives. This seems like a small thing, but over the course of 100+ levels, all those clicks to loot add up.

Once characters reach the level cap, gameplay turns from leveling to the end-game. This represents the culmination of the leveling process and the beginning of the deeper challenges awaiting max-level characters. While play prior to this point is oriented around accumulating experience and gaining new skills, the end-game represents the polished 'final destination' for players, at which characters are fully developed and ready to tackle the biggest challenges in the game, or to relax and make their own adventure.

The Broken Isles are unique among WoW continents in that you can progress through zones in any order you want. Once you have made it through the initial quests in Legion, you are free to move about four of the new zones — Val’sharah, Azsuna, Stormheim, and Highmountain — as you wish, with enemies, quests, and rewards scaling to your level. The fifth zone, Suramar, is mostly locked away until you’ve reached a certain point in the story.
Excess Potion of Accelerated Learning: Acquired in your Garrison (part of the Warlords of Draenor expansion), this gives you a 20-percent bonus to experience from killing monsters and finishing quests. It lasts one hour, but you can buy it multiple times and use it back-to-back. Alliance players buy it from Sergeant Crowler, horde players buy it from Sergeant Grimjaw. Does not work above level 99.

As you're leveling, I generally recommend you just follow the natural flow of the progression through each zone. They're laid out fairly reasonably. But don't be afraid to hop around, especially if you're near a quest objective. You shouldn't actually need ALL of the zones listed to reach 62. Pick the ones you like best. It's much more important to simply be as focused as possible and flow from one quest to the next.

Many people have asked whether we recommend leveling as Enhancement or Elemental. There’s no definitive answer here; it depends entirely on your comfort, your gear options, and if you’re in a group or solo. Enhancement benefits more from Honor Talents in open world leveling, and Elemental has stronger AOE damage for mass pulling. Feel free to experiment with both specs.
