It still will be but it takes up an Azerite armor slot. ST is not as important as AoE when leveling because you want to grab a pack of mobs, burst them down, loot and repeat. For DK specifically, Unholy is better in my opinion for leveling because it has a lot more aoe than Frost with epidemic. Unholy was my second fastest leveling time and I did it on a pre-made character with no leggos or consumables.
You’ll need things produced by many of these professions to optimize your character, but you only get two professions you can do yourself. Unless you want to grind on a second character to collect all the reputation-gated recipes for other professions, you will probably need to buy the stuff you can’t make for yourself on the auction house. And if the price of the stuff you need exceeds whatever your questing and your followers are bringing in, you might want to sell some of your own trade goods or raw materials in order to finance your purchases.

Fourth, beginning in Mists of Pandaria with the Halfhill farm, and continuing in Warlords of Draenor with various garrison buildings that produced resources, Blizzard has been making trade goods more plentiful and easier to obtain. In Legion, herbs, fish and enchanting materials were so abundant that a very small population of gatherers could supply more raw materials than the economy could consume.


The Escalation patch has introduced several new scenarios with respective heroic modes that provide shiny new loot. It is still too early to predict which of these will demand the highest prices at the auction house or AH, since it can take weeks for players to work through the content and determine the value of the new drops compared to the existing items. Many expect the rarest and most prized drops to start commanding handsome prices starting June, so just keep your eyes peeled for popular WTB requests in general chat and high-selling items at the AH.
If you queue as a healer - take care to always have a stack of water of appropriate level. You can buy it at an innkeeper for next to nothing, but remember that it will become too low-lvl for you very fast, so you need to buy new water every 10-20 levels. Alternatively, you can buy a stack of every tier of water in Stormwind, and just always carry it with you. Another alternative, if you see a mage - always ask him (politely) to create a table for you. Grab 2-3 stacks so you have extra for the next runs.

Anyway both got to 110 at around 50h played. I messed up with my Pal by going to Legion once I hit 100 instead of finishing treasures and bonuses in WoD. All in all, if I picked the best zones and was only trying to level as fast as I could, I would probably could have done it in roughly 40h. Note that it would have a been A LOT faster with a Monk as both Ret and Rogues don't really have a decent AoE until 40+ (45 for Ret and 63 for Rogue I believe). The daily also helps a lot. I know that leveling my Monk before the pre-patch was insanely fast. Might be slower with the changes to FoF, however.
Again, I play on Hoard side. I had an issue with the War Campaign guide. The guide suggests I pick up the “Wanted” posts at each outpost. I was not able to pick up these until I had finished unlocking all three outposts and the World Quests. I was able to proceed with some of the guide by manually double checking them to X, but the guide didn’t work quite right after that. I had to go back and pick up the next Outpost then it would be ok, until at the next location I needed to X the Wanted quests again.
At 96 the standard wisdom is to immediately drop what you're doing and proceed to Spires of Arak and do the quests to unlock the Inn, granting a further 20% experience bonus while in that zone. You'll want to do that eventually anyway, but I'm not sure it outweighs the quest experience from Gorgrond. However, if you decided to go to Spires immediately at 96, restrict yourself only to bonus objectives and again leave Treasures until you're 100+. Make certain that when you being the quests to unlock the inn, you speak with the quest NPC to also learn Archaeology, since it's required to collect several of the treasures in Spires.
In 2015, Blizzard started letting players buy gold from each other using WoW Tokens, to try to control the process and mitigate damage. “Time is money, friend — but sometimes one is harder to come by than the other,” Blizzard says on the official page. “Now World of Warcraft players can use the WoW Token in exchange for game time or Battle.net Balance!”
Was doing it at 52 on my lightforged paladin and it was easily the slowest zone out of the ones I'd done. Granted, I didn't have War Mode on so I didn't have any PVP talents, but it felt like about 40% of my time was spent waiting around for respawns or wandering around looking for mobs to kill to get a quest item that had like a 5% drop rate. Maybe I just got unlucky but I definitely won't be going to that zone again for future heritage armor runs.
I guess maybe I'm familiar enough with it to just slam it out. I don't recall any low droprate quests as bad as 5%. Although Blizzard has been screwing with stuff lately. Do you remember which quest it was? A lot of those can be skipped if they're too tedious. Like literally ALL the quests on that little island in the NE corner of the map with the ghost pirates underwater and the dragon whelps.

I found that in most cases, I could pick the zones I liked and skip everything else. It was slower, but I still wasn't forced to do quest zones I hated (and, notably, I skipped the entire Cataclysm expansion's content -- sorry, Thrall.) I did do dungeons, both in group finder and by two-boxing (more on that in a moment as well), but only once for the quests, and mostly to clear what felt like an awfully long slog from 40 to level 80.
In Legion, some of the dungeons include the Black Rook Hold, a max-level dungeon in Val’Sharah that once served as an elven fortress but has been corrupted by a malevolent force. If you decide to quest in Stormheim, you can also try to clear the Halls of Valor, which lets you take on the Vrykul God-King and vanquish the pure Val’kyr that are superior to those found in Northrend.

That means, if real players value their time at least as much as gold-sellers value a bot’s time, tokens should never be as cheap as illegal gold. But if it becomes as cheap to buy gold from other players than it is to buy it from gold-sellers, the players who patronize illegal services will switch to tokens. That means more tokens in the market, and therefore, lower prices, so the gold-seller price should impose a ceiling on WoW Token prices.
Prior to update 7.3.5 it was far too easy to level up a new character. The experience needed to advance from one level to the next was too low, resulting in players out-leveling the story quests in each zone, moving on before getting the full experience. With low monster health and high player power (especially when players were outfitted in ridiculously powerful heirloom gear), creatures dropped like flies. Combined with easy experience gained by joining parties in the dungeon finder, the first 60 levels in the game flew by.
Congratulations on reaching Level 120! There are a myriad of new things to do. The first thing you should do is head to your faction hub ship where you have been doing your mission table quests and footholds to pick up and complete the quests necessary to unlock World Quests. World Quests will provide you an opportunity to grind reputation levels, acquire gear, and gather Azerite. If the new Battle.net balance has given rich players a new incentive to liquidate, and the spiking prices are a result of them trying to sell all their gold at once? Prices for tokens could settle much lower once that stash of gold has been depleted. This seems likely, because there’s a compelling new reason to sell gold, but no new reason to buy it. Blizzard has a good way to drain those gold reserves from the market.
There are several reasons why this may have happened. First, only a fraction of the players who interact with the auction house buy or sell WoW Tokens. While the value of both gold and commodities plunged relative to real money, the value of gold and commodities remained steady relative to each other. Players who didn’t interact with the Token market could buy the same number of flasks by doing the same amount of world quests, or selling the same number of gems or enchantments, so these sellers saw no reason to raise their prices.
5% was admittedly an exaggeration, just felt that low. I'd say it was probably closer to the 30-40% range. It was Artifacts of the Blacksilt, spent a good 10-15 minutes killing Blacksilt Seers to get two damn idols to drop. A quest that had me killing Elder Brown Bears for bear flanks also took quite a while, though that was less due to drop rate and more due to how spread out they were.
Blizzard upping the health of creatures in those early zones has had a profound effect on how low my health bar gets. Even decked out in a full set of heirloom gear, my little fury warrior hasn’t one-shot much of anything in her 22 levels. Mobs that survive longer hit more often, hence my dangerously low health in the screenshot below. Players have to be a little more mindful now. That’s a good thing.

The publisher already commented on the game’s leveling speed following the launch of the Battle for Azeroth 8.0 pre-patch earlier this month. “Since the pre-patch we’ve made a large number of hotfixes and changes to leveling content, and are continuing to find and fix bugs wherever possible”, Blizzard wrote. “The intention was never to make leveling slower than it was in 7.3.5.”
