Welcome to the Ultimate, Unofficial Classic WoW Horde Leveling Guide. With this guide, you'll save days off of your leveling time, getting you to 60 in the fastest time possible! This guide is designed for new players and veterans alike, and you'll need it when faced with the difficulty of the original World of Warcraft. This guide contains both an outline of leveling by questing area and character level, as well as tips, tricks, secrets, and advanced techniques to speed up your leveling! If you want to quickly get into level 60 raids and dungeons, you'll need this guide! Why “World of Warcraft Classic”? Like many of you, I have fond memories of the original WoW and its Burning Crusade Expansion. I remember a time before instant gratification, achievements, and cross-realm group finder, where your reputation, skill as a player, and social connections mattered. When faced with the challenges of Azeroth, we all had to make friends and work together. With the return of classic WoW, we can all have that again: friendships that last beyond the game, instead of gear that is recycled with each content patch. Classic Wow is about quality over quantity. I have nearly 200 mounts on regular WoW, yet none feel as rewarding as my original level 60 mount. With this series of Guides, you can become that legend again or become a new legend, in the most important MMORPG of our time.
Once characters reach the level cap, gameplay turns from leveling to the end-game. This represents the culmination of the leveling process and the beginning of the deeper challenges awaiting max-level characters. While play prior to this point is oriented around accumulating experience and gaining new skills, the end-game represents the polished 'final destination' for players, at which characters are fully developed and ready to tackle the biggest challenges in the game, or to relax and make their own adventure.
Take breaks. Unless you're straight up no-lifing it over a weekend or something, this leveling process is going to take ~40 hours. But any time you do need to step away, log out. That tiny little bit of rested exp is insignificant...but you never know when something might come up and you'll have to leave for a longer period of time than you expected. Better to be logged out and safe(especially with War Mode on) than AFK waiting for a d/c. Plus, you'll need to stretch, eat, shower, and maybe sleep. XD

Dungeons still give too much experience. Yes, I'll get some hate mail for this. But due to the way dungeons -- especially at some levels -- scale, along with experience buffs, the fastest way from 1-110 now involves grinding one dungeon over and over and over again. It's the equivalent of the South Park "Make Love, Not Warcraft" episode, only instead of killing boars, you're killing endless worms in Ragefire Chasm or gnolls in The Stockades.

Second: I have found that the most effective way to level (which comes as no surprise to many) has been using the leggos KJBW and Sephuz’s. KJBW allows you to complete nuke down packs of mobs no problem on a 75 second cd and since the damage doesn’t fall off you can clear 10+ mobs in seconds.Edit KJBW has been nerfed to do half the damage that it normally did. It is now a 3.2k Nuke on 75 second cd that doesn't fall off. Though it is sightly more balanced, that does make me sad. I still believe that it is probably the best leggo still to level with but I will do some more research to confirm. Sephuz’s is nice for the MS boost and the proc is no joke. I highly recommend these for every class.
My second least-favorite part: leveling ranges. Zones are divided into leveling ranges; some are for levels 10-60, others for levels 58-80, and so on. On the surface, that appears to make sense; while there are odd moments where you're presented with the content from two expansions at once, it does mean that you're more or less going through content in order, at least by expansion if not by level.

Gold for riding training. Travel time is a SIGNIFICANT time sink while using quests to level. You don't want to wait to get it. In fact, while questing, the second you ding 40/60/70/80 you'll want to hearth and train it IMMEDIATELY! 10304 gold is the base cost, which will be modified by reputation. Also, make sure you're in a guild with the 10% riding speed bonus unless you're a class that already gets a mount-speed buff.


Recipe ranks basically make you more efficient at making stuff, either by letting you craft the same number of items for fewer materials or getting a higher yield from the same amount of materials. As an example, having a one-star rank recipe lets you craft items at a relatively inefficient way, but when you acquire two-star or even three-star recipes, it can almost feel like you are crafting items out of thin air because of the low amount of materials required for each craft.

The most recent run I did on my hunter, I never set foot in Ghostlands, nor did I need to fully complete Dustwallow Marsh. There are a LOT of quest lines in each of these zones that might not be available unless you progress and complete story-line quests in order. Northern Barrens and Andorhal are especially bad in this regard, but many zones you can easily miss out on a lot of quests if you don't do a vital quest. So make sure you keep an eye on the minimap for quest ! indicators.
In recent weeks, players have been giving Blizzard an earful concerning experience gains and leveling in World of Warcraft. It looks like a couple of issues are at the heart of these problems, including time to kill certain baddies and the time it takes to level up between levels 60 and 80. While Blizzard is still trying to figure out why some baddies are taking too long to kill, the hope is that a hotfix launched this week will address the problem of leveling.
101+ At this point you'll start taking a penalty on quest/bonus objective experience for every level past 100. Treasures, however, remain worth their full value all the way through level 105, at which point they'll be worth something like 15% less, and then another 15% more when you ding 106. I recommend that you stop questing/gathering entirely, and collect all the treasures you can stomach, only avoiding any annoying to reach ones inside caves or behind elites/rares(where scaling does bizarro things).
Heirloom experience should be boosted, now that zones scale. If a zone scales along with me, it shouldn't matter if it gives me 20 levels instead of 10. I'm still enjoying the experience, even as a veteran player. I don't need to see every zone on every character again; that's the point of heirlooms. I can still enjoy the leveling experience, and the scaling, and the full outdoor experience of the zones -- and still get to the end game content I enjoy in a somewhat reasonable time as an employed adult. And the change wouldn't affect new players.
The zones in Battle for Azeroth are littered with treasures and rare spawns that give the same amount of XP as quests. With Zygor's Leveling guide these points of interest are displayed directly on your map and can be clicked at anytime to add them underneath your current guide step. The guide will then switch focus to the POI, direct you to its completion, and tell you how to complete it.

Instead, go to Timeless Isle and take the portal to Gorgrond. From there, fly to your respective faction starting zone(Frostfire Ridge or SMV), go to your garrison, and do the quests to unlock your garrison(A short quest chain beginning down near the water where you'd otherwise start after the Dark Portal scenario). For now DO NOT collect any more treasures than absolutely needed to buy 1 or 2 experience potions! Treasures continue to be worth superior exp/h all the way to level 107!!! You don't want to begin collecting them until lvl 100 or later.
There are also numerous gold-making guides available for World of Warcraft players. Currently mmobux recommends Killer Guides' World of Warcraft Gold Guide, which covers a broad range from daily quests and professions to making gold while leveling and auction house trading. 'Standard' farming spots are covered as well, making it an interesting resource for bots as well. Yielding up to 500 gold per hour, the strategies are suitable for players of all skill levels. If Killer Guides keeps the guide up to date, it probably will become a valuable resource for professional farmers as well. In the end leveling quickly in World of Warcraft is a lot about experience and leveling you 2nd or 3rd character will always be quicker than leveling your first one, no matter what leveling guide you use.
